UIC held Orientation for International Students

An Orientation for International Students was held at E307 on 8, September. Thirteen students from America, France, Korea, Austria and Canada attended the orientation. Executive Vice President, Prof. Kwok Siutong, gave a welcoming speech. The orientation was hosted by Mr. Bill Feng, Deputy Director of International Development Office.

Among the students, eleven were exchange students from Westfield State College (USA), Gustavus Adolphus College (USA), Augsburg College (USA), Concordia College (USA), Lille De Catholic University (France), Ajou University (Korea). Another two were degree seeking students from Austria and Canada.

During the orientation, representatives from Academic Registry and Student Affairs Office gave brief introduction on these two departments. International Development Office introduced general information of UIC to help international student get used to life in UIC.

Prof. Kwok said in his speech that UIC's Entire English teaching method would be suitable for international students and they could learn something special from Whole Person Education.

Bernard Clemence from France expressed her happiness about exchanging to UIC, "UIC's environment is good and I hope to make friends with Chinese people and improve my Chinese". Hugh Mailly was an exchange student from Westfield State College (USA). He was deeply impressed by UIC, "It is amazing! The campus is beautiful, the air is clear, and people are very nice here. I'm curious about how people live here and their culture".
